Sporting KC II took another defeat on Saturday evening. This time it came on the road by a final score of 4-1 against Louisville City FC. Lou City has now outscored SKC II 10-4 in three games this season.
SKC II offered very little going forward, but Kayden Pierre did get his first professional assist to draw SKC II level in the 71st minute. Otherwise, the visitors took just three additional shots in which none tested the keeper.
SKC II remains at the bottom of the Central Division with a record of 3-10-5 and 14 points. Lou City has extended their lead at the top of the table by six points with 36 points and an 11-3-3 record.
A day after signing an Academy contract, forward Zion Long got his professional debut. Coby Jones also got his first pro start in the midfield. On loan from the first team was goalkeeper Kendall McIntosh and defenders Graham Smith and Kayden Pierre.

The first chance of the game came to Lou City seven minutes in from a free kick. Lancaster’s effort from distance was well saved by McIntosh.
With a firm grip on the game, Lou City finally found the breakthrough in the final minute of first half stoppage time. Corben Bone assisted Jorge Gonzalez with a cutback ball. Once the ball arrived to Gonzalez, he hit it with his first touch to beat and end McIntosh’s 250-minute shutout streak.

McIntosh saved another free kick from Lancaster in the 52nd minute. Once again, it dipped and hit the ground just before getting to the keeper.
With his first real opportunity of the game in the 68th minute, Enoch Mushagalusa leveled things on the quick counterattack. Making a run in behind the Lou City defense, Mushagalusa received a great ball from Kayden Pierre and touched it around the keeper before finishing it from a narrow angle.

As the final seconds ticked away, Lou City added a fourth. After Coby Jones lost the ball, Louisville made one final move forward as James McLaughlin’s effort on goal was deflected by Danny Barbir, but ruled a goal.
